Online advertising language and Zango lingo
- Branded web page
- Consumers who have downloaded Zango's proprietary software receive advertiser's targeted web pages, branded "Zango" on the top bar.
- Contextual advertising
- Internet users receive ads or web pages relevant to what they are interested in or when they are shopping for a product or service.
- CPA
- Cost per acquisition; the cost to get a customer to purchase a good or service.
- CPC
- Cost per click, also referred to as PPC, pay per click.
- CPV
- Cost per visitor, Zango's payment model. Advertisers are only charged for visitors who come to their sites.
- Destination web page or URL
- The page an advertiser links to a targeted phrase or keyword. Zango brings this page to consumers interested in that product or service.
- Keywords
- Phrases, a word or words, or URL that advertisers choose to reach consumers. Keywords point to services or products that advertisers are offering; consumers using those keywords will see advertiser's web pages that are linked to them.
- Keyword pricing, bid prices
- Zango advertisers determine the prices they will pay for keywords through a bidding system.
- Keyword targeting, target match
- Zango software recognizes keywords on user's browsers and delivers new IE browser windows with web pages matched to those keywords.
- Permission-based marketing
- Consumers have opted in or signed up and understand that they will receive advertiser's messages.
- ROI
- Return on investment; total cost for visitors, divided by sales.
- Spyware
- Software that is inadvertently downloaded and hidden on the PC, where it tracks user's Internet movements and gathers and reports information without their knowledge. Unlike Zango software which is fully disclosed, permission-based, and visible to users.
- Targeted visitor
- A consumer who uses a keyword and is then delivered an advertiser's web page becomes a targeted visitor.
- Test budget
- The optimum amount an advertiser should use to test a campaign and keywords to determine effectiveness. Account representatives help advertisers determine test budgets based on industries and sectors.
- Timeshifting
- Zango's unique contextual advertising model connects consumers to advertisers at the very time they are interested in what those advertisers have to offer.
- User caps
- The number of times an individual user will be served a web page in a given time period, e.g. one ad every two days. The advertiser sets user caps.
